Ashley Schiavone Named Rising Star Lawyer for 2018
Ashley Schiavone has once again been selected as one of Georgia’s Rising Stars in the area of DUI by the Super Lawyers organization. This is an annual selection of the best lawyers in each field of law and Ms. Schiavone’s second honor. It is highly competitive: only 2.5% of the nominated candidates are actually selected for the Rising Star Lawyer designation, which honors lawyers under 40 or who have worked in law for less than 10 years.
A Rigorous Nomination and Selection Process
Super Lawyers has a rigorous nomination and selection process for their designations. First, a lawyer is nominated by managing firms, other lawyers, the Super Lawyers organization, or a third party. Next, the candidate’s performance as a lawyer is investigated by the Super Lawyers research team. They look at twelve key indicators:
• Verdicts and settlements
• Experience
• Honors and rewards
• Pro bono and community service work
• Education and employment background
• Representative clients
• Special licenses and certifications
• Position within the law firm
• Bar and professional activity
• Scholarly lectures and writings
• Other outstanding achievements
Next, the candidates must undergo a peer evaluation before the final selection. The peer board is made up of the lawyers with the highest points on the twelve indicators above.
